Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective date: May 13, 2026. This policy applies to all paid 1-on-1 sessions and bundle purchases booked through the Yorbit platform.

Overview

Yorbit uses a flat platform-wide pricing model. Single sessions are priced by duration (15-min Quick Take, 30-min Standard Session, 45-min Deep Dive) and bundles are pre-paid credits redeemable with any mentor on the platform within 90 days of purchase. Because mentors block calendar time for each booking, this policy is designed to be fair to both parties while protecting students from unfulfilled commitments.

Messaging, community participation, and all other free features on Yorbit are not subject to any charges and therefore have no refund considerations.

Single sessions

A single session is one paid booking with one mentor at one scheduled time.

Full refund (100%)

  • The mentor cancels for any reason.
  • The mentor does not join within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time and no reschedule was agreed.
  • The student cancels more than 24 hours before the scheduled start, via the platform.
  • A charge was made due to a technical fault on Yorbit's side.

Partial / no refund

  • Student cancels 2 to 24 hours before: 50% of the session price is refunded. The remaining 50% covers the mentor's reserved time, of which the mentor receives their standard payout share.
  • Student cancels less than 2 hours before, or no-shows: No refund. The mentor receives 50% of their normal payout for the held time; the rest is retained by Yorbit as a hold charge.
  • Session completed: Refunds are generally not available after a session is marked complete, unless a documented technical failure substantially prevented the session from taking place. In that case, raise a dispute (see below).

Bundles

Bundles (Explorer Pack, Decision Pack, Full Clarity Pack) are pre-paid session credits redeemable with any mentor on Yorbit. Each credit equals one 30-minute session.

Cancelling an unredeemed pack

  • Within 24 hours of purchase, no sessions used: 100% refund.
  • After 24 hours or if any session has been booked / completed: A pro-rata refund applies. We refund the value of remaining unused sessions, calculated at the a-la-carte single-session price (not the discounted bundle per-session price). Any sessions already used or held are treated as if they were paid a la carte.
  • Worked example: A student buys a 5-session Decision Pack for ₹1,499 (single-session value: 5 × ₹350 = ₹1,750; bundle discount: ₹251). After using 2 sessions, the student requests a refund. Value of used sessions at a-la-carte: 2 × ₹350 = ₹700. Refund: ₹1,499 − ₹700 = ₹799.

Bundle expiry (90 days)

  • Unused sessions expire 90 days after purchase. Yorbit will email reminders at 30, 14, and 3 days before expiry.
  • Expired credits are not refunded. Mentors were not paid for them, so they remain Yorbit revenue. If you have a genuine reason for missing the window (medical, exam-related, etc.), email support; extensions are considered case-by-case.

Individual cancellations within a bundle

If you cancel a booking made from a bundle, the same single-session rules apply, except the "refund" returns the session credit to your pack rather than money to your account:

  • Cancel > 24 hrs before: credit fully restored.
  • Cancel 2 to 24 hrs before: credit restored at 50%, i.e. a half-credit is consumed.
  • Cancel < 2 hrs / no-show: credit fully consumed; mentor receives 50% payout.
  • Mentor cancels or no-shows: credit fully restored, regardless of timing.

Dispute resolution

If a session did not match reasonable expectations. For example, the mentor was unprepared, behaved inappropriately, or audio/video was so poor the session could not proceed. Raise a dispute by contacting us within 48 hours of the session's scheduled end time.

Yorbit will review the dispute, may speak with both parties, and will issue a full refund, partial refund, or restore a bundle credit depending on the facts. Decisions made after review are final.

Email support@yorbit.in with your booking reference, a brief description, and any screenshots, chat logs, or recordings.

Refund processing

Approved refunds are processed through Razorpay to the original payment method (UPI, card, net banking, or wallet). Processing typically takes 5 to 10 business days after approval, depending on your bank.

Yorbit absorbs the ~2.2% payment-gateway fee out of its platform share, so the price you see is the price you pay. For refunds, however, the gateway fee component is non-recoverable from Razorpay; Yorbit will refund the full amount you paid except in cases where Razorpay does not return the fee to us. In those edge cases (typically <3% of refunds), a small deduction may apply, which we will disclose at the time of refund approval.

Mentor payouts on cancellations & refunds

For transparency, this is how mentor payouts interact with the refund rules above:

  • Full refund to student → mentor receives no payout for that session.
  • Late-cancel by student (2 to 24 hrs) → mentor receives 50% of their normal payout.
  • No-show by student → mentor receives 50% of their normal payout.
  • Mentor cancels or no-shows → no payout, and repeated incidents reduce the mentor's visibility in search.
  • Dispute upheld in student's favour → mentor payout is reversed (or not issued, if still pending).

Changes to this policy

Yorbit may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date and emailed to active users. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
